Highland 2 is a better way to write.

We’ve taken the tools we built for writing screenplays and made them work for almost every kind of document you write. From novels to blog posts and school reports, Highland’s clean design and innovative tools help you focus on words, not formatting.

With Highland 2.5, we’ve refined every bit of the app while adding incredible new features like Revision Mode and custom themes.

“Highland is just a cleaner, purer way to be creative.” — Phil Lord, Writer/Director of The Lego Movie, 21 & 22 Jump Street

“You won’t find a better app for getting your writing done than Highland 2.” — Jeffery Battersby, iMore

More Power. Less Distraction.

Highland handles formatting automatically, so you can spend your time finding the perfect word, not the right menu command.

You’ll love working in an editor designed for writing, not mimicking a printed page.

When you want to see the layout, quickly toggle between your text and a preview of the finished document.

With one click, Highland turns your words into a perfectly-formatted document ready to print or export.

- Multi-Cam, Treatment and Comic Book. Templates for things beyond screenplays.

- Character Highlighting. Works in both the Editor and export.

- Gender Analysis. Check the male/female balance in your screenplay.

- Best-in-class PDF Melting. Screenplay PDFs are no longer frozen in carbonite. This was Highland’s breakout feature, and remains unmatched.

2019/12/14 | 版本 : 2.6.10 | 大小 : 31.8 MB

- Corrects preview issue on macOS 10.15 Catalina*
- Character highlighting boxes in PDFs draw correctly
- Prevents crashes due to unexpected/incomplete {{directive}} formatting
- Reduces memory usage and closes memory leaks
- Simplifies adding a blank line between list items
- Drag-and-dropping scenes in the Navigator carries their content with them

- Highland 2 starts up faster
- Allows drag and dropping from the Bin in one document to another document’s Bin
- Improves PDF generation performance
- Horizontal lines (---) in Markdown documents show up better in the Editor, and are printed as separator lines in PDFs. In Manuscripts, they’re printed as standard scene separators (a centered `#` on the line by itself)
- Screenplay dialogue at the bottom of the page will try to squeeze an extra line onto the page, rather than split the dialogue across pages

Sometimes you need to bail on a Sprint early. Highland 2.5 records your progress up to that point, so you don’t have to worry about losing progress.

[improvement] Custom alignments in HEADER and FOOTER
Love a template, but need more control over Headers and Footers? You can now add forced alignment markup to Headers and Footers.

[improvement] New Manuscript options
Highland 2.5 can automatically pad section headings and remove the indentation from the first paragraph of a section. Manuscript is also now available in Basic.

[improvement] Simplified Cheat Sheet
We’ve merged the Fountain and Markdown Cheat Sheets to create a single reference for writers. It now works offline as well.

[improvement] Superscripts
Need to throw in some algebra? We’ve got you covered. Just use the caret notation to create superscripts, e.g. a^2 + b^2 = c^2. [Shoutout to Pythagoras]

[improvement] Better Dual Dialogue Formatting
We’ve tweaked how dual dialogue is printed in Screenplay PDFs. We’ve also improved character highlighting of dual dialogue, both in the Editor and the Preview.

[improvement] Forced Page Break behavior more consistent
Forced Page Break markup now always means “start on the next page,” resulting in fewer blank pages. (If you want to insert a blank page, you can still do so with two forced page breaks.)

[improvement] Table of Contents links in PDFs
For PDFs, Table of Contents creates links within the document. Handy!

[improvement] Links in Script templates
Script templates now support links in the form of [title](url).
